Science Friday: Goo

So, as some of you are now aware, I have been teaching the older school kids for about 2 months now.
I have just recently added doing easy science experiments with the kids and this was our second Science Friday.

This time I chose to make goo from cornstarch and water.
We added some food coloring just for fun.

I didn't get pictures from when we first started because my hands were covered in goo.
This was after they had already turned their goo into not so lovely colors.
Mr F started out with blue and the girls started out with yellow.

Miss J was in a 'goo-fy' mood this day.
She really wasn't mad, just being silly.

Miss P's goo.
Is it a solid?

Or is it a liquid?

Miss P got the idea to stick her nose in the goo. She thought it was hysterical!

Miss R isn't really in my class yet but I let her come in for the fun.

We have a strict rule of speaking English only to help the children grow more confident with the language. It has helped them so much! Miss R has only been here for about 5 months and doesn't have much English yet so I try to include her every now and then to give her English a boost.

I let Miss R have my bowl of pink goo.

Monkey see, ...

... monkey do.

"Look! A pea!"

Did you notice more goo on P's nose?
Yes, she put her nose into the goo several more times.

The funny thing was the girls had more fun and played longer than the boy.
I thought he wouldn't want to stop but all the sudden he was finished.

Goo splatters.

Like I stated earlier, this girl was in a really 'goo-fy' mood!

More gooey hand pics.

Miss P making a heart.

The girls dumped all the bowls of goo into one bowl.

Fun was had by all. The teacher included.

Miss J stated that she wants to do this every day.
She more than likely won't get her wish, poor girl.
However, I think she may like next weeks experiment also.
