Sand Pit Play With A Lola

The sand pit, as they call it, plays a big role in our every day life here. They love it and it keeps them busy for a long time.

"Look, I don't have any legs or feet!"

"See me jelly?"
(I don't know why they call it a jelly unless it's something in Tagalog. And yes, they really say it this way, it wasn't a typo.)

Tunnel work ahead.

"Look, look, look!"

We get a bit dirty here but don't worry. We shower morning and night.

A sand seat fits just perfectly.

Dirty little piggies go well with a pretty smile every time.

We have some visitors from New Zealand. It's a group of 5 ladies and they are all grandmothers. A grandmother is called lola (pronounced low-luh) in Tagalog.

Lola Claire came out to see what the kids were doing yesterday and decided to jump in and play with them. First they had to make a big pile,

then, of course, they took turns jumping on it.

What fun was had! Just look at the smiles on their faces.

"Me turn!"
